Kanye West – “Christmas in Harlem” (ft. CyHi da Prynce, Teyana Taylor, Cam’Ron, Jim Jones, Vado, Pusha T, Musiq Soulchild)

The G.O.O.D. music team put out this radio-friendly joint in 2010, and it’s one of my favorite X-mas tunes. Unlike many Christmas rap songs, this one’s not gimmicky at all. It has a really raw feel thanks to the smooth vocals from Teyana Taylor and top-notch production from Hit-Boy. It’s also a cheerful and feel-good song, with maybe the exception of Kanye who plays Bad Santa on this one. It’s got some “Naughty” lines but I marked it as “Nice” because the vibe is so good, you barely notice!

A fun fact is that Marvin Gaye and Shuggie Otis are both given songwriting credit on “Christmas in Harlem” due to the use of their samples.

There is also a remix of this song floating around that’s also worth checking out.
