Spyder-D – “Ghetto Santa”

Another cut off the 1987 Christmas Rap compilation, “Ghetto Santa” is a no frills Christmas rap song. With Spyder-D and DJ Doc on production, the instrumental is a hip-hop version of “Jingle Bells” with sleigh bells layered on to give it a distinctive Christmas vibe.

Ghostface Killah – “Ghostface X-Mas”

Wu-Tang celebrates Christmas too! Released in 2008, this single features Tony Starks himself dropping a few Christmas-related verses over a hip-hop “Carol of the Bells” instrumental. Surprisingly, the song is G-rated for the most part. There is the occasional reference to Hennessey mixed with egg nog (yum) and a particular illegal plant, but this is standard Shaolin fare. You tell

Sweet Tee – “Let The Jingle Bells Rock”

“Oh, you didn’t know Christmas went hip hop? Check the clock, and let the jingle bells rock”  Here’s another cut off the 1987 Christmas Rap compilation released by Profile Records. “Let The Jingle Bells Rock” is an original track by Sweet Tee, a female rapper from Queens most known for her 1988 debut album It’s Tee

2-Cent Christmas 2013 – Parody Video (Impersonations of Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Juicy J, and MANY more)

The moment we have all been waiting for… #2CentXmas 2013!! The fifth annual 2-Cent Christmas video is out now and does not disappoint! Switching it up this year, the group performs live on stage for the majority of the songs, rather than making it purely a music video as they have done in the past. Christmas

2-Cent Christmas 2012 – “2 Christmaz” Parody Video (Impersonations of 2 Chainz, Notorious BIG, Kendrick Lamar, and MANY more)

Christmas parodies are a yearly tradition from the team at 2-Cent, and their 2012 video was another hit. Rather than making an outright music video this time, they added some skits, making it more of a story. To me, this year’s video was not as comical as previous ones, but no less entertaining. The 2-Cent

Rap Allstars – “Last Christmas” ft. Leroy Daniels

Back in 1998, the Rap Allstars created their own rendition of George Michael’s classic song “Last Christmas”. It’s a great song and fits perfectly into any Christmas playlist. Nothing revolutionary here, just good old fashion hip hop Christmas music. There’s also a video to go along with it. Christmas Relevance Naughty or Nice? Santa’s Score

Terrace Martin – “Christmas On Soul” ft. Snoop Dogg & J. Black

Yesterday, Terrace Martin’s acclaimed album 3ChordFold received the remix treatment in the form of 3ChordFold:Remixed. Here is a b-side from that album that didn’t make the cut, but (thankfully) was released separately. “Christmas On Soul” warms up to the Christmas spirit with the “Jingle Bells” instrumental we all know and love. Then the beat drops

2-Cent Christmas 2010 – “Good Christmas” Parody Video (Impersonations of Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and MANY more)

The sociology-meets-comedy group 2-Cent has a long running annual tradition of hip-hop Christmas parodies featuring all your favorite rappers. This is the 2010 edition and it’s my absolute favorite. This time around, we get hilarious impersonations of Birdman, Chris Brown, Drake, Eminem, Gucci Mane, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Lil’ Wayne, Plies, Questlove, Rick Ross, Rihanna,

Algee – “This Christmas”

If there were any Christmas rap song that would be suitable for radio play, Algee’s version of “This Christmas” would be it. The energy level is high throughout the song, and the instrumental stays true to the original “This Christmas” with some added flare. The lyrics are light-hearted as Algee takes us through some of

Juice Crew All-Stars – “Cold Chillin’ Christmas”

Back in 1988, the Juice Crew released “Cold Chillin’ Christmas” as part of the Warner Bros. Records’ compilation Winter Warnerland. On the track, Juice Crew members Fly Ty, Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne Shanté, and MC Shan spit some G-rated stories and raps about Christmas time. The track is rare, as I could not find an official download
